Spring/Summer, 2009
Dear Friend,
Good weather is finally upon us and with it comes so many more people on the roads enjoying the sunny days and warm evenings. It is a time for BBQs, get-togethers at cottages, and beach parties. With this often comes increased drinking and driving.
We’ve all heard news reports of devastating crashes caused by impaired driving. Perhaps you’ve asked yourself: How can I keep the roads safe for myself and my family and friends? How can I be part of the solution?
You can be part of the solution by making a donation to MADD Canada. With your support you help us fight for stronger impaired driving legislation. You help us educate the next generation of drivers on how to stay safe. And you help us reach out to the devastated victims of this senseless crime.
You can also be part of the solution by getting involved in Campaign 911 should the need arise.
Campaign 911 is MADD Canada’s most innovative Public Awareness Campaign to-date. It works by using tools such as radio public service announcements, billboards, roadside signs and posters to empower Canadians to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver. It gives Canadians the opportunity to play a critical role in their own safety, assisting the police in intervening before a potentially deadly crash occurs.
Campaign 911 is raising awareness and getting impaired drivers off our roads. It’s doing exactly what it’s meant to do – saving lives and preventing injuries.
For the difference you can make on our roads and in countless lives, I hope that you will help us keep the momentum going strong with a generous gift today. Your support will identify you as someone who will always be part of the solution to ending impaired driving and someone with compassion for the victims of this senseless crime.
Please give as generously as you can today and continue to be part of the solution this season and always. Have a safe summer.
Sincerely,

Margaret Miller
Volunteer National President
