Dramatic police chase ends in arrest
Mississauga News
November 19, 2007

A 30-year-old Mississauga man is facing charges following a high-speed police chase in Belleville yesterday that lasted nearly 30 minutes.

Police say they tried to stop a vehicle after several 9-1-1 callers reporting a reckless driver motoring along Hwy. 62 in Belleville.

However, when the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, it sped off onto the 401, police said.

Police later managed to box in the fleeing car and, following a brief struggle with police, the driver was arrested.

An empty police cruiser was struck by a passing car while officers were making the arrest. The cruiser was totalled, but no one was injured.

Jatinder Lall of Mississauga has been charged with failing to stop and impaired driving.  He is being held for a bail hearing.
