Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Sarnia-Lambton) will launch its safe and sober driving campaign,“Project red ribbon —tie one on for safety” on Saturday, Nov. 15.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m., MADD volunteers police, fire and ambulance personnel will place 260 white crosses along Front Street in Point Edward, just north of the 402. The crosses represent the estimated number of victims that will be killed by impaired drivers in Canada during the holiday season.

Rev. Val Pitt will dedicate the crosses and bless the families they represent at 11 a.m., followed by refreshments and snacks at the Point Edward United Church Hall.
