Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Bay of Fundy N.S. Chapter is planning thelaunch of Project Red Ribbon November 23.
The kick-off is planned for the Greenwood Mall at 4 p.m. The group covers the area from Kingston/ Greenwood to Metegan, and its main focus is to stop people from drinking and getting behind the wheel.
Four members of the chapter travelled to Toronto to attend MADD’s national conference in October. After hearing heart wrenching stories of so many losing their lives at the hands of drunk drivers, they returned with even more resolve.
Project Red Ribbon will cover one end of the country to the other as the Christmas season approaches with the distribution of red ribbons in every province and territory, all encouraging the general public not to drink and drive.
There are two good reasons to tie a red ribbon on your vehicle: to show respect for the thousands of Canadians who have lost their lives or have been injured due to an alcohol-related crash and to remind people to drive sober through the holiday season - and every season.
