In Canada, one in every 8 deaths and injuries
in road crashes is a teenager. Recent statistics tell us that
2 out of 5 people who die in crashes involving alcohol are 25
years of age and under. More teenagers die each year as a result
of road crashes than any other cause of death.
High school is one of the most difficult times for teens but
it is also one of the most important. Choosing the right friends,
keeping good relations with families and making responsible decisions
are all part of the battle of teenage life. MADD Canada’s
goal is to not only make students aware of the dangers of drinking
and driving but also to make them active citizens and leaders
in their school and communities.
