Dear Friend,
Your support
for MADD Canada – your personal effort – can make a difference.
In fact, when you combine your effort with that of other MADD Canada supporters, there's nothing we can't achieve. People like you are the reason we make important strides – in the classroom, in the courtroom, in parliament, in the fight against impaired driving.
Please take this opportunity to make a donation
to MADD Canada. Your gift
today will result in important achievements taking place in 2012.
To give you an idea of what the combined efforts of Canadians can do, here's a look at just some of what was achieved in 2011:
- Served as powerful voice for victims of impaired driving and delivered our services and resources to more than 20,000 victims.
- Delivered our School Assembly Program to more than one million students and launched a French production of our show.
- Took our Campaign 911 program in a nautical direction with an initial installation of 50 Report Impaired Boating signs in the Atlantic Region, Ontario and British Columbia.
There is no doubt that the combined efforts of our supporters are making a difference. Over the past 30 years, work being done in the fight against impaired driving has saved more than 34,000 lives!
And yet, impaired driving continues to be a deadly problem in our country. Every year approximately 1,200 Canadians are killed, 68,000 others injured and costs society $21 billion.
This year, we must work even harder to put a stop to this preventable crime. Only with your effort will we succeed.
Your support
today will help us continue to promote impaired driving legislation, including a .00 BAC requirement for drivers with less than five years driving experience. It will also help us continue to spread our "nautical" Campaign 911 into other provinces.
Your generosity
also means we can deliver our powerful School Assembly Program to more than one million students this year
And, of course, your effort today will touch the aching hearts of the devastated victims of impaired driving – enabling MADD Canada to provide support, information, court accompaniment, or simply a sympathetic ear to someone in need.
Your personal effort to stop impaired driving can make a difference – to the youth we educate about the dangers of impaired driving... to the thousands of victims who find solace and hope with one phone call... to all Canadians, all families, who travel our roads and highways.
I wish you and yours a safe and happy New Year.
