Memories in Motion Tour
Ian Chiasson wants the public to know of Michael and Angela and the wonderful future ahead of them. The two had found their soul mates in each other, Michael had just graduated as a paramedic and Angela had been accepted into nursing school. They were on their way home to Sydney to celebrate Michael’s graduation, beginning a new career and Angela’s father’s birthday. An impaired driver in the community of St. Peter’s (near Port Hawksbury) Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ended it all on May 14, 2004. Their tragic sudden deaths impacted their families, friends and the entire community.
Three years after Michael George Maclean and Angela Marie Smits were killed by the impaired driver, Michael’s best friend Ian Chiasson has taken to the Trans Canada to honour his friend’s life. Travelling 100-150 km a day, Ian and cycling partner Dana will complete the memorial cycle across Canada in Sydney, Nova Scotia, sometime in August.
