David William Cuthill

Province Where Crash Took Place: Alberta
Age: 20
Date of Crash: April 25, 1999

The crash took place in Hanna, Alberta. David and his friends were at a bachelor party. David had hurt himself earlier in the evening and had to go to hospital to get stitches, and returned to the party. Later when they left for home, David had too much to drink so he let his friend drive - he had also been drinking. The police saw the lights of the car and then they disappeared and all they saw was dust. The police held David as he died. David was dead and on what would have been David's birthday, September 27, 2000, his friend pled not guilty, so now we have to go through the judicial part of this.

Tribute submitted by William John Cuthill, David's father.

On April 25, 1999 the joy went out of our lives forever. The light of our lives, our loving son David, lost his life in an alcohol-related collision on a lonely road near Hanna.

Our son touched so many lives, his dreams and his hopes for the future gone in a flash.

The pain and emptiness, the tragedy of losing our son is beyond words.

We as parents can't forget, how we wish we could hold him one more time, but that is not to be.

Every minute of every day my thoughts are with him, the pain so great at times I can't even put into words - there are none.

We miss our David so much I keep thinking it is so unreal and that any minute he will walk through the door just as he always used to do.

He wasn't just our son; he was our best friend.

We love you David and will pray that justice is done. And someday we will be together again.

No one is indestructible, it can happen to you.
