Jeremy Guy Lance

Home City: Pembroke, Ontario
Age: 17
Date of Crash: November 22, 1996

Jeremy Guy Lance left Calex Gas Bar, where he worked part-time, to travel to the Civic Hospital, where his grandfather lay gravely ill in the Intensive Care Unit. His trip was cut short by a military officer who chose to travel drunk 12 miles from the army base where he was employed. The results of the crash are that Jeremy struggles with the effects of an Acquired Brain Injury.

The following message was provided by Jeremy's mother, Linda Lance.

I, Linda Lance, mother of a healthy, talented and bright 17-year-old, have been sentenced to helplessly watch my son Jeremy attempt to establish a life for himself with rehabilitation, 90 miles from our home.

Jeremy Guy Lance did not lose his life in the crash, but he did lose his hopes and dreams for his future. Acquired Brain Injury has robbed him of many things. Its result is a lifelong struggle and battle to achieve the things most of us take for granted. Drunk driving robs individuals and families so senselessly.
