Michael Darryl Knox

Home City: St. Paul, Alberta
Age: 16
Date of Crash: October 2, 1999

Mike was driving home early after being the designated driver, ensuring that his friends made it home safe. Mike did not. He never came home again. The impaired driver that took our son had a BAC of 3 1/2 times the legal limit. Mike was just three short miles from home on Highway 28 when the impaired driver crossed into his lane. Mike had no time to react and paid the ultimate price for someone else's ignorance. The impaired driver was also killed that night.

We thought it would be forever,
Not knowing forever would come so suddenly.
We know that you're in a better place,
Without seeing that smile upon your face.
Watching over, from the skies,
Even if we cannot see your sparkling eyes.
We hear your jokes, laughs and voice,
Knowing it's only in our minds and hearts by choice.

You see our tears, hear our cries,
Wishing we could have said I love you and goodbye,
But the time has come for you to go
High beyond the sky.
You've lived, loved, learnt and dreamt.
You're happier now.
Forever in a time.
Forever in our hearts.

Forever missed, loved, and remembered,
Ed, Louise, Erik, and Kirsten Knox
